திருவெள்ளறை புண்டரீகாட்ச பெருமாள் கோயில்

திருச்சி மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்த திருவெள்ளறை புண்டரீகாட்ச பெருமாள் கோயில், திருமாலின் 108 திவ்யதேசங்களில் நான்காவது தலம் ஆகும். இது கோட்டை போல் கட்டப்பட்டு, பெரிய பிரகாரத்தின் தென்பகுதியில் உள்ள கல் அறைகளில் ஒலி தெளிவாக எதிரொலிக்கும் தன்மை கொண்டது. உய்யக்கொண்டார் எங்களாழ்வானின் அவதாரத் தலம்.

திருமங்கையாழ்வார், பெரியாழ்வார் இக்கோயிலை மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளனர். மூலவர் புண்டரீகாட்சன், தாயார் செண்பகவல்லி. தலவிருட்சம் வில்வம் மற்றும் தீர்த்தங்கள் மணிகர்ணிகா, சக்ர, புஷ்கல, வராக, கந்த, பத்ம தீர்த்தங்கள் இங்கு உள்ளன. விமானம் விமலாக்ருத விமானமாக அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

தல வரலாற்றில், திருமால் மற்றும் திருமகள் பாற்கடலில் உரையாடும்போது, திருமகளுக்கு அதிக உரிமை வழங்கப்படும் உறுதியுடன் இந்தத் தலம் முக்கியத்துவம் பெற்றது. சிபி சக்கரவர்த்தி, மார்க்கண்டேய முனிவர் உள்ளிட்ட தேவர்கள் இங்கு வழிபட்டு அருள்புரிந்தனர்.

இக்கோயிலில் சித்திரை திருவிழா, கஜேந்திர மோட்சம், பங்குனி திருவோணம் போன்ற பண்டிகைகள் சிறப்பாக நடைபெறுகின்றன. பலிபீடத்தில் கோரிக்கை முன் வைத்து, தீர்வு கிடைத்ததும் திருமஞ்சனம் செய்து பக்தர்கள் பிரார்த்தனையை நிறைவேற்றுவர்.

The Thiruvellarai Pundareekaksha Perumal Temple, located in Tiruchirappalli district, is the 4th Divya Desam among the 108 sacred temples of Lord Vishnu. The temple resembles a fortress, with stone chambers in the southern prakara where sound echoes distinctly. It is famed as the avatar site of Uyyakondar Engalazhwan.

Saints like Thirumangai Azhwar and Periyalwar have sung the glories of this temple. The presiding deity is Pundareekakshan, with consorts Senbagavalli and Pankayach Selvi. The sacred tree is the Vilvam, and the temple houses holy tanks like Manikarnika, Chakra, Pushkala, Varaga, Kanda, and Padma. The vimana (tower) is known as Vimalakrutha Vimana.

Legend narrates a divine conversation between Lord Vishnu and his consort at the ocean, where the goddess sought special privileges over devas. The temple also celebrates saints like Sibi Chakravarthi and Markandeya Maharshi who worshipped here.

Major festivals include Chitrai Festival, Karthigai Deepam, and Panguni Thiruvonam with special poojas and processions. Devotees customarily present their wishes at the bali peedam before prayers, and upon fulfillment, conduct abhishekam and offerings to conclude their vows.
