திருப்பவளவண்ணம் திவ்யதேசம், காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இது திருமங்கையாழ்வார் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்த 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 55-வது தலம் ஆகும். இத்தல பெருமாளானார் “பவளவண்ணர்” (சிவந்த மேனியுடன்) என அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்.

இந்தத் தலம், பவள வண்ணர் மற்றும் பச்சை வண்ணர் என இரு சன்னதிகளை கொண்டது. இரண்டு கோயில்களும் எதிரெதிராக அமைந்துள்ளன.

பிரம்மதேவனின் தவறால் ஏற்பட்ட சாபமும், பிருகு முனிவரின் சாப விமோசனமும் இத்தல வரலாற்றுடன் இணைந்துள்ளன. ஒரு சமயம், அசுரர்களை அழிக்க, திருமால் சக்ராயுதம் கொண்டு சக்கர தீர்த்தத்தில் வதம் செய்தார். அப்போது ஏற்பட்ட குருதியால் பவள நிறம் கொண்ட மேனி ஏற்பட்டது.

பவழவல்லித் தாயார் சந்நிதியின் முன் மண்டபத்தில், எட்டு திசை அதிபர்களின் சிற்பங்கள் உள்ளன. இவற்றை வணங்கினால் வீட்டு தோஷங்கள் நீங்கி, மகாலட்சுமியின் அருள் கிடைக்கும் என்று நம்பப்படுகிறது.

திருவிழாக்கள்: மார்கழியில் வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, பங்குனியில் பவித்ரோற்சவம், வைகாசியில் பிரம்மோற்சவம் விமரிசையாக கொண்டாடப்படும்.

ராகு-கேது தோஷம், புத்திர பாக்கியம், விஷ பூச்சி பாதிப்பு ஆகியவற்றிற்கு தீர்வாக இத்தல பெருமாளை வழிபடுவது சிறப்பு.

Thiruppavalavannam Pavazhavannar Temple in Kanchipuram is the 55th Divya Desam glorified in the Mangalasasanam of Thirumangai Alvar. Lord Vishnu here is called Pavazhavannar, meaning the Lord with coral-red complexion. This temple stands as one of the rare shrines where the Lord appears in red hue (Pavazha – Coral).

This Divya Desam houses two shrines, one for Pavazhavannar and another for Pachaivannar (Green-complexioned Vishnu). According to legend, Lord Vishnu appeared in different complexions during each Yuga, and in Treta Yuga, He manifested here with a coral hue.

Mythology connects this temple to the story of Lord Brahma’s curse and Brighu Maharishi’s redemption. Also, it is believed that Lord Vishnu destroyed Asuras here, whose blood turned His complexion red, giving Him the name Pavazhavannar.

This temple also features beautiful sculptures of the Ashta Dikpalakas in the mandapam near Pavazhavalli Thayar’s shrine, believed to remove vastu doshas and bestow Lakshmi Kataksham.

Festivals: Vaikunta Ekadasi in Margazhi, 10-day Brahmotsavam in Vaikasi, and Pavitrotsavam in Panguni are celebrated grandly.

Worship here is highly beneficial for those suffering from Rahu-Ketu doshas, lacking childbirth blessings, or facing obstacles due to venomous creatures.
