100வது திவ்ய தேசமாகப் புகழ்பெற்றது. குடவரைக் கோயிலாக அழைக்கப்படும் இத்தலம், திருமங்கையாழ்வார் மற்றும் பூதத்தாழ்வார் மங்களாசாசனங்களைப் பெற்றது.

தல வரலாறு: ஸ்ரீதேவி, பூமாதேவி, நீளாதேவி இடையேயான உயர் பதவி பேச்சு இத்தலத்தில் நடந்தது. திருமால் ஸ்ரீதேவியை சிறந்தவளாக ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு, அவளை வாழ்த்து வழங்கியதனால் இத்தலம் திருத்தங்கல் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

கோயில் அமைப்பு: இரண்டு நிலைகள் கொண்டது. மேல்நிலையில் நாராயண பெருமாள், கீழ்நிலையில் செங்கமலத் தாயார் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். கருடாழ்வாரின் நான்கு கரங்களுடன் கூடிய தனிப்பட்ட வடிவம் இத்தலத்தில் மட்டுமே காணப்படும்.

திருவிழாக்கள்:
வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, ஆனி மாத பிரம்மோற்சவம் சிறப்பாக நடைபெறும். கருட சேவை, தேரோட்டை போன்ற நிகழ்ச்சிகள் பெருமளவு பக்தர்களை ஈர்க்கின்றன.

பிரதான நம்பிக்கை: திருமணத் தடை நீங்கும், எதிரிகள் நண்பர்களாக மாறுவார்கள் என்பதே இத்தலத்தின் தனி சிறப்பு.

Thiruthangal Nindra Narayana Perumal Temple, located in Virudhunagar district, is celebrated as the 100th Divya Desam among the sacred 108 Vaishnavite Divya Desams. This temple, famously known as a Kudavarai (bamboo grove) Temple, was sanctified by the revered Alvars Thirumangai Alvar and Poothath Alvar through their hymns.

The Main Deity (Moolavar) is the majestic Standing Narayana Perumal (Vaishnavite Vishnu), also called Thiruthankalappan. The consort is the divine Sengamalathayar, known by multiple names including Kamala Mahalaxmi and Annanayagi. The temple is famed for its holy Theerthams (sacred water bodies): Bhaskara Theertham, Papanasa Theertham, and Archuna River. It follows the Vaikhanasa Agama tradition and the temple’s vimana is called the Soma Chandra Vimana.

Unique legend: The temple is linked to the celestial debate among Sri Devi, Bhooma Devi, and Neela Devi about supremacy. Lord Vishnu appeared here to bless Sri Devi, affirming her supremacy, hence the place is called Thiruthangal (“Sacred Golden Place”).

The temple structure includes a two-tiered sanctum, with Arjuna, Markandeya, and Anjaneya in special shrines. The temple is famous for Garuda Alvar’s unique four-handed idol, holding his enemy snake as a friend—an exclusive feature here.

Festivals: The Vaikunta Ekadasi and the grand Aani Brahmotsavam attract thousands of devotees, with rituals like Garuda Sevai and special Theerthavari. It is believed worship here dissolves marital discord and turns enemies into friends.
