அன்பில் சுந்தரராஜப் பெருமாள் கோயில் (திவ்ய தேசம்)
திருச்சி மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள அன்பில் சுந்தரராஜப் பெருமாள் கோயில், 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் ஐந்தாவது தலம். இக்கோயிலில் திருமால், பாற்கடலில் பள்ளிகொண்ட கோலத்தில் “தாரக விமானம்” கீழ் எழுந்தருளுகிறார். சோழ மன்னர்களால் கட்டப்பட்ட ராஜகோபுரம் போன்ற விமானம், சிறப்பான கட்டிடக் கலையை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறது.
திருமழிசையாழ்வார் இத்தலத்தை நான்முகன் திருவந்தாதியில் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளார். மூலவர் சுந்தரராஜப் பெருமாள், உற்சவர் வடிவழகிய நம்பி, தாயார் அழகியவல்லி. தலவிருட்சம் தாழம்பூ; தீர்த்தம் மண்டுக தீர்த்தம்.
புராணக்கதையின்படி, நான்முகனின் அகந்தையை நீக்க, திருமால் இத்தலத்தில் மனித உருவில் வந்து உபதேசம் செய்தார். இதனால் இத்தலம் “அன்பில்” என்ற பெயரை பெற்றது. மேலும், சாபம் பெற்ற மண்டுக முனிவருக்கு திருமால் தரிசனம் தந்து சாப விமோசனம் செய்த தலம் இது.
இங்கு ஆண்டாள் தனி சந்நிதியில் அருள்பாலிக்க, நரசிம்மர், வேணுகோபாலர், ஆழ்வார்கள் ஆகியோர் பிரகாரத்தில் உள்ளனர். வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, நவராத்திரி, கார்த்திகை, மாசித் திருவிழாக்கள் சிறப்பாக நடைபெறுகின்றன.
Anbil Sundararaja Perumal Temple (Divya Desam)
Located in Tiruchirapalli district, Anbil Sundararaja Perumal Temple is the 5th among the 108 Divya Desams. Lord Vishnu graces in a reclining posture beneath the sacred “Tharaka Vimanam,” reminiscent of his cosmic pose on the milk ocean. Built by the Chola kings, the temple’s vimana resembles a Rajagopuram with stunning Dravidian architecture.
Thirumazhisai Azhwar glorified this temple in the Nanmugan Thiruvandhadhi. The presiding deity is Sundararaja Perumal, with Utsavar Vadivazhagiya Nambi and Goddess Alagiya Valli. The temple tree is Thaalampoo, and the sacred water is Manduka Theertham.
According to legends, Lord Vishnu appeared here in human form to humble Brahma’s ego and later relieved Sage Manduka from a curse. Due to the Lord’s compassion, the place came to be known as “Anbil,” meaning divine love.
Andal has a dedicated shrine here. Other deities include Narasimha, Venugopala, and various Azhwars. Major festivals like Vaikunta Ekadasi, Navaratri, Karthigai, and Masi Theerthavari are celebrated with devotion.
