தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள புள்ளபூதங்குடி (பூதபுரி) வல்வில்ராமர் கோயில், 108 திவ்யதேசங்களில் 10வது தலம். இங்கு ராமர் சயன நிலையில் கிழக்கே திருமுகம் காட்டி அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். திருமங்கையாழ்வார் இத்தலத்தை மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளார்.
இது ஜடாயுவுக்கு ராமபிரான் ஈமக்கிரியைகள் செய்த புண்ணிய நிலம். ராவணனிடம் சாகசமாக போராடிய ஜடாயு, உயிர் நீத்த இடம் இது. ராமபிரான், சீதையின் மறு அம்சமாக தோன்றிய பூமிபிராட்டியுடன் சேர்ந்து ஜடாயுவுக்கு ஈமக்கிரியைகள் செய்தார். அதனால் இத்தலம் “புள் + பூதம் + குடி” எனப் பெயர் பெற்றது.

Pullabhoothangudi Valvil Ramar Temple – One of the 108 Divya Desams
Located near Swamimalai in Thanjavur district, Pullabhoothangudi Valvil Ramar Temple is the 10th of the 108 Divya Desams. Lord Rama is in a reclining posture facing east. Thirumangai Alvar glorified this temple in his hymns.
This temple is famed for the episode where Lord Rama performed the last rites for the eagle king Jatayu, who fought Ravana to save Sita. With the help of Bhoomi Devi (Sita’s divine form), Rama honored Jatayu’s devotion. Hence, the place is named “Pulla-Bhootha-Kudi” (Bird + Body + Place).
