நாச்சியார் கோவில் (திருநறையூர்)

108 வைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 14-வது தலமாக போற்றப்படும் திருநறையூர் நாச்சியார் கோவில், தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டம், கும்பகோணம் அருகே அமைந்துள்ளது. இங்கு வஞ்சுளவல்லி தாயாருடன் இணைந்து சீனிவாசப் பெருமாள் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். ஆண்டுதோறும் நடைபெறும் “கல் கருட சேவை” பெரும் சிறப்பானது.

இத்தலத்தில் பெருமாளைவிட தாயாரே சிறப்புப் பெற்று முன்புறம் நின்றவாறு உள்ளார். கையில் கிளியும் இடுப்பில் சாவிக்கொத்தும் தாயார், கோயிலின் முழு நிர்வாகத்தையும் மேற்கொள்கிறார் என்பதை உணர்த்துகிறது. திருமங்கையாழ்வார் இத்தலத்தை மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளார்.

பரம்பொருள் திருமாலை மருமகனாக பெற, ஒரு முனிவர் வஞ்சுள மரத்தடியில் தவம் இருந்தார். பங்குனி மாத உத்திர நட்சத்திர தினத்தில் மகாலட்சுமி குழந்தையாக அவதரித்தார். திருமாலும், வஞ்சுளவல்லியையும் திருமணம் செய்துகொண்டு, தாயாருக்கு முதலிடம் கொடுப்பதற்காக இத்தலத்தில் இருக்கின்றார்.

தல சிறப்பில் “முத்ராதானம்” குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. நீலன் என்பவர், வைணவ ஆச்சாரியராக, திருமால் சங்கு, சக்கர அச்சு இடும்படி நேரில் வந்திருந்து அருள் செய்தார். இதனாலேயே இத்தல பெருமாளுக்கு இரண்டு கரங்களே காணப்படுகின்றன.

சோழ மன்னன் கோச்செங்கணான் கட்டிய 5 நிலைகளுள்ள 75 அடி உயர ராஜகோபுரம், 21 படிகள் கொண்ட மாடக்கோயில் அமைப்பு, 108 திவ்ய தேச உற்சவர்களின் சன்னதி, நவக்கிரகங்கள் மற்றும் தசாவதாரங்கள் என கோயில் அமைப்பே விசேஷம்.

மார்கழி, பங்குனி பிரம்மோற்சவங்களில், மற்றும் மாதந்தோறும் திருவோண நட்சத்திரத்தில், பக்தர்கள் ஆயிரக்கணக்கில் வந்து, தாயாரும் பெருமாளும் அருளும் பெற்று போகின்றனர்.

Nachiyar Koil (Thirunaraiyur)

Nachiyar Koil, located in Thanjavur district near Kumbakonam, is one of the 108 Divya Desams and is glorified as the 14th sacred site. Here, Lord Srinivasa Perumal graces devotees alongside Vanjulavalli Thayar. The unique “Stone Garuda Seva” held annually is a major spiritual attraction.

Unlike other temples, in this Divya Desam, the Goddess (Thayar) stands slightly ahead of the Lord, signifying her supremacy. She holds a parrot and a key bunch, symbolizing her administrative command. Thirumangai Azhwar has sung hymns in praise of this shrine.

The temple’s legend speaks of a sage meditating under a Vanjula tree to attain Mahalakshmi as his daughter. She incarnated as Vanjulavalli, and later Lord Vishnu, as Srinivasa, married her. He accepted the condition of always giving her prominence—hence, even in processions, the Goddess leads.

One of the most revered features is the Muthra Dhanam episode, where the Lord personally initiated a devotee, Neelan, as a Vaishnava by imprinting the conch and discus. This event explains why the deity here has only two hands and the conch and discus are seen separately.

The temple features a 75-foot five-tier rajagopuram and a hill-like structure requiring 21 steps to reach the sanctum. Constructed by King Kochengannan, it also includes a unique Garuda shrine, 108 Divya Desam utsava murthis, and a special Navagraha placement.

Festivals like the Garuda Seva during Brahmotsavams (Margazhi and Panguni), and monthly Thiruvonam days, draw large crowds seeking the divine blessings of Srinivasa and Vanjulavalli Thayar.
