திருவெள்ளியங்குடி கோலவில்லி ராமர் கோயில் 

108 திவ்யதேசங்களில் 17வது தலம் திருவெள்ளியங்குடி கோலவில்லி ராமர் கோயில், தஞ்சாவூர் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. வாமன அவதாரத்துடன் தொடர்புடைய இத்தலம் நான்கு யுகங்களிலும் வழிபாடுகளுக்குப் பெற்ற சிறப்பிடம். இத்தலத்தில் மட்டும்தான் கருடாழ்வார் சங்கு, சக்கரம் ஏந்திய நான்கு கைகளுடன் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.

இத்தலம் “சுக்கிரபுரி” என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. வாமன அவதாரத்தின் போது கண் ஒளி இழந்த சுக்கிராச்சாரியார் இத்தலத்தில் தவம் செய்து பார்வையை மீட்டதாக புராணங்கள் கூறுகின்றன. விஷ்ணு புராணம், பிரம்மாண்ட புராணம் மற்றும் திருமங்கையாழ்வார் பாடல்கள் இத்தலத்தை போற்றுகின்றன.

மூலவர் கோலவில்லி ராமர் (ஸ்ரீராப்திநாதன்), உற்சவர் சிருங்கார சுந்தரர், தாயார் மரகதவல்லி. தலவிருட்சம் செவ்வாழை; தீர்த்தங்கள்: சுக்கிர தீர்த்தம், பிரம்ம தீர்த்தம், பரசுராம தீர்த்தம், இந்திர தீர்த்தம். புஷ்கலா வர்த்தக விமானம் உள்ள இக்கோயில் வைகானஸ ஆகமப்படி பூஜைகள் நடைபெறுகின்றன.

அசுர குல சிற்பி மயன் தவமிருந்து பெருமாளை வில், அம்புகளுடன் கோலவில்லி ராமனாக தரிசித்தார். சுக்கிரன் இத்தலத்தில் தவம் செய்ததால் இவ்வூருக்கு ‘வெள்ளியங்குடி’ என்ற பெயர் வந்தது. இத்தலத்தில் தரிசனம் செய்தால் 108 திவ்யதேச தரிசன பலன் கிடைக்கும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை.

ஸ்ரீராம நவமி, வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்தி உள்ளிட்ட விழாக்கள் சிறப்பாக கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றன.

Thiruvelliyangudi Kolavilli Ramar Temple is the 17th of the 108 Divya Desams glorified by Alwars. This sacred site is closely associated with Lord Vishnu’s Vamana Avatar and has been worshipped across all four Yugas. It is uniquely revered for Garuda, who appears here with four arms, holding the conch and discus.

This temple, also known as Sukrapuri, is said to be the place where Shukracharya (Venus/Sukran) performed penance and regained his lost eyesight after being pierced by Lord Vamana. The temple’s sanctity is celebrated in the Vishnu Purana and Brahmanda Purana, and it has been sung by Thirumangai Alwar.

The presiding deity is Kolavilli Ramar (Sri Rabdhi Nathan), and the utsavar is Shringaara Sundarar. The goddess is Maragathavalli Thayar. The temple tree is red banana (Sevvazhai), and the sacred tanks include Shukra Theertham, Brahma Theertham, Parasurama Theertham, and Indra Theertham. The temple follows Vaikhanasa Agama, and the vimana is called Pushkala Varthaka Vimanam.

The temple legend highlights Mayan, the asura architect, who was blessed with a divine vision of Lord Rama. This place is believed to grant darshan equal to visiting all 108 Divya Desams. Sukran is worshipped here eternally as a glowing lamp, making this a powerful Sukra Dosha remedy temple.

Major festivals like Sri Rama Navami, Vaikunta Ekadasi, Krishna Jayanthi, and Navaratri are celebrated with grandeur, including special abhishekams, processions, and alankaram for the Lord and Goddess.
