20-Thirukkannangudi Lokanayaka Perumal

நாகப்பட்டினம் மாவட்டம் திருக்கண்ணங்குடி உள்ள லோகநாதப் பெருமாள் கோயில் 20-வது திவ்யதேசம் மற்றும் பஞ்ச கிருஷ்ணத் தலங்களில் ஒன்று ஆகும். நாகப்பட்டினம் நகரிலிருந்து 8 கிமீ, சிக்கல் இருந்து 2 கிமீ தொலைவில் அமைந்துள்ள இக்கோயில், பக்தர்களுக்கு எளிதில் அணுகக்கூடியது.

இத்தலம் ஆறு, காடு, நகரம், ஆலயம், தீர்த்தம் ஆகிய ஐந்து அம்சங்களையும் கொண்டுள்ளது. திருமங்கையாழ்வார் (1748-1757) மற்றும் மணவாள மாமுனிகள் வழிபட்ட இந்த கோயிலில் மூலவர் லோகநாதப் பெருமாள் (சியாமளமேனி பெருமாள்) அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.

உற்சவர் தாமோதர நாராயணன், தாயார் லோகநாயகி (அரவிந்த நாயகி), தல விருட்சம் மகிழ மரம், தீர்த்தம் சிரவண புஷ்கரிணி என இத்தலம் சிறப்பம்சங்களைக் கொண்டுள்ளது. உத்பல விமானம் கோயிலின் உயர்ந்த விமானமாகும்.

முனிவர் வசிஷ்டர் கிருஷ்ணரை வழிபட்டு, அவன் வெண்ணெய் இளகாமைதான் அங்கே வாழ்வதை அறிந்த சம்பவம் இத்தலத்தின் முக்கியக் கதை. கோயிலில் 5 அடுக்கு ராஜகோபுரம், இரண்டு பிரகாரங்கள், பெரிய மண்டபங்கள் உள்ளன.

உற்சவரின் குழந்தைக் கண்ணனாக கையில் இடுப்பு பிடித்து அருள்பெய்தல், தாயார் மற்றும் மூலவரின் ஒரே மாதிரியான முகம், மற்றும் கருடன் இரண்டு கைகள் கட்டி வணங்குதல் போன்ற தனிச்சிறப்புகள் இக்கோயிலை பிரபலமாக்குகின்றன.

காயா மகிழ், உறங்காப் புளி, ஊறாக் கிணறு, தீரா வழக்கு போன்ற அதிசயங்களும் இத்தலத்தை ஆன்மீக நெறியில் விசேஷமாக்குகின்றன. வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி விழா சிறப்பாக நடைபெறுகிறது.

Thirukkannangudi Lokanayaka Perumal Temple, located in Nagapattinam district, is celebrated as the 20th Divya Desam and one of the sacred Pancha Krishna Kshetrams. This ancient temple lies just 8 km from Nagapattinam and 2 km from Sikkal, making it easily accessible for pilgrims.

The temple uniquely embodies the five elements—Water (Aaru), Forest (Kaadu), City (Nagar), Temple (Aalayam), and Sacred Tank (Theertham)—making it a spiritually complete shrine. Revered by saints like Thirumangai Alvar (1748-1757) and Manavala Mamunigal, it is dedicated to the presiding deity Lokanatha Perumal (also known as Siyamalameni Perumal).

The Utsavar (processional deity) is Damodara Narayanan, and the Goddess here is Loka Nayaki (Aravindha Nayaki). The temple’s sacred tree (Thala Virutcham) is the Magizha Tree, and the holy tank (Theertham) is called Siravana Pushkarini. The temple features a magnificent Uthpala Vimana above the sanctum.

According to legend, sage Vasishtha worshipped Krishna here, whose playful act with butter kept the butter fresh, showing divine grace. The temple complex includes a 5-tier Rajagopuram, two prakaras, and large mandapams for devotees.

Unique aspects include the Utsavar’s child Krishna form with hand on hip, the similar faces of Utsavar and Goddess, and the deity Garuda’s folded hands, symbolizing devotion unlike other temples.

Special miracles such as Kayamaghizh (immortal Magizha tree), Uraga Kinru (non-percolating well), Uranga Puli (sleepless tamarind tree), and Theera Vazhkai (endless dispute) make this Divya Desam a must-visit for spiritual seekers. The temple’s Vaikunta Ekadasi festival is grandly celebrated.
