சீர்காழி திருவிக்கிரம பெருமாள் கோயில், திருமாலின் 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 27-வது தலம் ஆகும். இது காழிச் சீராம விண்ணகரம் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. ஆண்டாள் மற்றும் திருமங்கையாழ்வார் இத்தலத்தில் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளனர்.

மூலவர்: திரிவிக்கிரம நாராயணர் – இடக்காலை உயர்த்தி, வலக்கையால் ஒரு விரல் காட்டும் தனித்துவம் கொண்ட திருக்கோலம்.
உற்சவர்: தாடாளன் – ஆண்டாள் இந்த பெயரை சூட்டினார்.

உரோமச முனிவருக்காக திருமால் வாமன அவதாரத்தில் தோன்றி, பின்னர் திரிவிக்கிரம வடிவில் அருள்பாலித்தார். இதில், நான்முகனின் கர்வம் அழிந்தது, முனிவருக்கு ப்ரம்மனுக்கு மேல் ஆயுள் அருளப்பட்டது.

திருமங்கையாழ்வார், இத்தலத்தில் உள்ள மூதாட்டியிடம் இருந்து மறைக்கப்பட்ட தாடாளன் உற்சவர் திருவுருவை மீட்டார். பின்னர் கோயிலை பொது வழிபாட்டுக்காக திறந்து வைத்தார். இதில், சம்பந்தருக்கும் திருமங்கையாழ்வாருக்கும் வாதப்போட்டி நடந்தது என்பது வரலாறு.

இங்கு பெருமாள் திருமகளால் தாங்கப்பட்டு உள்ளார், இது மிகவும் அபூர்வமான கோலமாகும். தாடாளனை வழிபட்டால் மழலை செல்வம் கிடைக்கும் என்பது நம்பிக்கை.

வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, தை மாதம் 10 நாள் பிரம்மோற்சவம், மற்றும் வெள்ளிக்கிழமை ஊஞ்சல் சேவை குறிப்பிடத்தக்க திருவிழாக்கள். தங்க கருடனுக்கு தினசரி பூஜை நடைபெறும்.

இந்த தலம் ஐந்து விண்ணகரங்களில் ஒன்றாக பாட்டில் பாடப்பட்டுள்ளது – வைகுண்டத்துக்கு நிகரான புண்ணிய ஸ்தலம்!

Kaazhi Seerama Vinnagaram, also known as Thiruvikkrama Perumal Temple, is the 27th Divya Desam located in Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai District. This sacred shrine is praised in the Divya Prabandham by Thirumangai Azhwar and Andal.

The presiding deity is Sri Thiruvikkrama Narayanan, in a unique posture with one leg raised and one finger pointing upwards. The Utsavar is Thadalan, and the Goddess is Lokanayaki Thayar. The sacred tree is Jackfruit (Palaa), and the temple tanks are Sankha and Chakra Theerthams.

Here, Lord Vishnu appeared as Vamana to humble Brahma’s pride and later revealed His Trivikrama form to sage Romasa. Pleased with the sage’s penance, the Lord blessed him with divine vision and longevity surpassing Brahma.

Andal, moved by this form of Vishnu who measured the three worlds, affectionately named Him Thadalan and worshipped Him for child blessings.

A divine episode here narrates how Thirumangai Azhwar recovered the hidden Utsavar from an old devotee and opened the temple for public worship. The Goddess carries the Lord on Her chest here – a unique feature where Lakshmi supports Vishnu instead of the reverse.

Important shrines include Lord Rama and Hanuman. Major festivals include Vaikunta Ekadasi, a 10-day Brahmotsavam in Thai, and Friday Unjal Seva for Thayar.
