காஞ்சிபுரம் சின்னகாஞ்சி பகுதியில் அமைந்துள்ள வரதராஜ பெருமாள் கோயில், திருமங்கையாழ்வார், பூதத்தாழ்வார், பேயாழ்வார் ஆகியோரால் மங்களாசாசனம் பெற்ற முக்கிய திவ்யதேசம்.

பூஜ்யமான அத்திவரதர் சிலை, 40 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு ஒரு முறை அனந்தசரஸில் இருந்து எடுக்கப்படுகிறது. கடைசியாக 2019 ஜூலை-ஆகஸ்ட் மாதங்களில் தரிசனம் செய்யப்பட்டது.
9 நிலை ராஜகோபுரம், 5 பிரகாரங்கள், 43 படிகள் கொண்ட 40 அடி உயர கருவறை, ஆகியவை கோயிலின் சிறப்புகள்.
ஆழ்வார்கள் ஒன்பது பேரும் இங்கு பாசுரம் பாடியுள்ளனர்.
கருட சேவை, சித்திரை சூரியன் தரிசனம், மகர கண்டிகை, ராபர்ட் க்ளைவ் தந்த நகை, பிரம்மன்-ஆதிசேஷன் வழிபாடு, கண்கள் இழந்த கூரத்தாழ்வாருக்கு கண்கள் வழங்கும் சந்நிதி போன்றவை முக்கியமான விசேஷங்கள்.

Kanchipuram Varadaraja Perumal Temple
Located in Little Kanchipuram, the Varadaraja Perumal Temple is the 43rd Divya Desam, glorified by Thirumangai Azhwar, Bhoothath Azhwar, and Pey Azhwar.

The Lord appeared atop Athigiri Hill, which is believed to be held by Airavata, Indra’s elephant. Since He granted a boon to Lord Brahma, He is known as “Varadaraja” (Bestower of Boons).
The legendary Atthi Varadar idol, submerged in Anantha Saras, is taken out once every 40 years for public worship. The last event was from July to August 2019.
The temple features a 9-tier Rajagopuram, 5 enclosures (Prakaras), and a 40-foot tall sanctum with 43 steps.
Nine Azhwars have sung hymns in praise of the deity here.
Other highlights include the famous Garuda Sevai, Chithirai Sunlight Miracle, Makara Kandika jewel, the ornament gifted by Robert Clive, and the sanctum where Koora Azhwar regained his eyesight.
Special festivals:
Vaikasi Brahmotsavam (10 days), Vaikunta Ekadasi, Navaratri, Tamil and English New Year are celebrated with grandeur.
