53- Thirukkarvanam Kanchipuram

108 வைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில், காஞ்சிபுரத்தில் உள்ள திருக்கார்வானம் கார்வானப் பெருமாள் கோயில், 53-வது திவ்ய தேசமாக சிறப்பாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. இது உலகளந்த பெருமாள் கோயிலுக்குள் அமைந்துள்ள, ஆன்மீக வரம் தரும் ஒரு சிறிய திவ்ய தேசம்.

இத்தலத்தில் திருமங்கையாழ்வார் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளார். மூலவர்: கார்வானப் பெருமாள் (கள்வர் பெருமாள்) – வடக்கு நோக்கி, திருமகள் மற்றும் பூமி தேவி சமேதமாக நின்ற கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். தாயார்: கமலவல்லி நாச்சியார், தீர்த்தம்: கௌரி தீர்த்தம், விமானம்: புஷ்கல விமானம் ஆகும்.

பார்வதி தேவி, திருமாலை கள்வன் வேடத்தில் காண விரும்பினார். சிவபெருமான் தன் ஆசையை நிறைவேற்ற, திருமால் இத்தலத்தில் கள்வனாக தரிசனம் தந்தார் என புராணம் கூறுகிறது.

‘கார்வானம்’ என்பது கருமேகங்கள் சூழ்ந்த வானம் எனப் பொருள். பெருமாள் கருணை மழையை பொழிவதுபோல், நம் பக்திக்கு ஏற்ப அருளை நித்யமாக வழங்குகிறார்.

இங்கு பக்தியுடன் பிரார்த்தித்தால், ஞானம், மன அமைதி, துன்பநிவாரணம் போன்ற பலன்கள் கிட்டும். அவரது அருள் எந்த நிலையிலும் பக்தர்களை விட்டு விலகவில்லை.

வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி விழா இங்கு மிகச் சிறப்பாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. திருக்கார்வானத்தில் ஒரு முறையாவது தரிசனம் செய்வது, அறிவும் அருளும் பெறும் ஒரு அரிய வாய்ப்பாகும்.

 Thirukkarvanam Karvanar Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram is revered as the 53rd Divya Desam. Located within the Ulagalantha Perumal Temple complex, this is one of the lesser-known yet spiritually significant shrines.

Thirumangai Azhwar has sung Mangalaasaasanam here, praising the Lord’s glory. The main deity is Karvanar Perumal, also known as Kalvar Perumal, appearing in a standing posture facing north, flanked by Goddess Lakshmi and Bhoomi Devi. The consort here is Kamala Valli Nachiyar, the sacred tank is Gauri Theertham, and the vimana is Pushkala Vimanam.

According to legend, Goddess Parvati wished to see Lord Vishnu in a thief’s form (Kalvan) after hearing about His leelas. She expressed her desire to Lord Shiva, who directed her to Kanchipuram, where Vishnu appeared as Kalvan, fulfilling her wish.

The term ‘Karvanam’ refers to the dark, monsoon-laden sky – symbolizing the clouds of mercy. Just like the rainclouds shower life-giving rain, Karvanar Perumal bestows blessings abundantly, regardless of caste or status.

This Divya Desam is renowned for granting spiritual insight, relief from sorrow, and unwavering grace. It’s believed that devotion and surrender determine the extent of His blessings, not karma alone.
