18-Kalinga narthanam

Kalinga Narthanam Leela 

The Yamuna River was once poisoned by the venomous serpent Kalinga, making its waters deadly. All creatures suffered. To purify the river and protect the people, Lord Krishna leapt into the river, bravely confronting Kalinga in his own domain.

The mighty serpent wrapped Krishna tightly in his coils. But Krishna, calm and smiling, expanded Himself and broke free. Then, with divine grace, He danced on Kalinga’s hoods, each step pressing down with celestial rhythm.

Crushed and humbled, Kalinga and his wives prayed for mercy. Krishna, ever compassionate, forgave the serpent and ordered him to leave the Yamuna forever. Peace returned, and the river flowed pure again, praised by gods and devotees alike.

காலிங்க நர்த்தனம் லீலை 

யமுனை நதி, நஞ்சு உமிழும் பாம்பு காலிங்கனால் கலங்கியிருந்தது. அதன் விஷத்தால் நீர் ஆபத்தானதாகி, பல உயிர்கள் பாதிக்கப்பட்டன. இதைக் கண்டு கிருஷ்ணர் தைரியமாக யமுனையில் குதித்து, அந்த விஷ பாம்புடன் மோதினார்.

பெரிய பாம்பு கிருஷ்ணரை சுருட்டி கட்டினான். ஆனால் கிருஷ்ணர் சிரித்தவாறே தம்மை விரிவாக்கி விடுவித்தார். பின் தெய்வீக நர்த்தனமாக, காலிங்கனின் பல தலைகள்மீது நடனமாடினார். ஒவ்வொரு அடியிலும் காலிங்கன் வலியால் நொறுங்கினான்.

பின்னர், காலிங்கனும் அவனது மனைவிகளும் தயவுக்கேட்டனர். கருணைமிகு கிருஷ்ணர் அவரை மன்னித்து, யமுனையை விட்டு விலகச் சொன்னார். யமுனை மீண்டும் தூய்மையாகி, தேவர்களும் பக்தர்களும் மகிழ்ந்து போற்றினர்.
