108 வைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில், நேபாளத்தின் முஸ்தாங் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள முக்திநாத் ஸ்ரீமூர்த்தி கோயில் 70வது திவ்ய தேசமாகப் போற்றப்படுகிறது. இக்கோயில் முக்திநாத் பள்ளத்தாக்கில் 3,710 மீட்டர் உயரத்தில், இமயமலையில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இது 51 சக்தி பீடங்களுள் ஒன்றாகவும், சாக்தர்களால் அதிக மதிப்பிடப்பட்டுள்ளது.

மூலவர் ஸ்ரீமூர்த்தி, தாயார் ஸ்ரீதேவி நாச்சியார் ஆகியோர் வழிபடப்படுகின்றனர். பெரியாழ்வார், திருமங்கையாழ்வார், இராமானுஜர் இத்தலத்தில் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்து, வழிபாடு செய்துள்ளனர். இக்கோயிலில் உள்ள சக்ர தீர்த்தம் மற்றும் கண்டகி நதி தீர்த்தங்கள் சிறப்பானவை.

கண்டகி நதி திருமாலிடம் தீவிர தவம் செய்து, அவருடைய சாளக்கிராம ரூபத்தில் வழிபடப்பட்டது என்பது இத்தல வரலாறு. மேலும், கஜேந்திர மோட்சம் நிகழ்ந்த இடமாக இக்கோயில் புகழ்பெற்றது.

கோயிலில் உள்ள சாளக்கிராம சுயம்பு மூலவர், 108 திவ்ய தேச தீர்த்தங்களின் சமமான 108 கோமுக தீர்த்தங்கள் கோயிலுக்கு வெளியே பரவலாக உள்ளன. முக்திநாத் தலம் ஸ்வயம் வ்யக்த தலங்களில் ஒன்றாக கணக்கிடப்படுகிறது.

Muktinath Sri Murthi Temple, located in the Mustang district of Nepal, is revered as the 70th Divya Desam among the 108 Vaishnavite Divya Desams. Nestled in the Muktinath valley at 3,710 meters altitude in the Himalayas, this sacred site is also recognized as one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, attracting devotees from Shaiva and Shakta traditions alike.

The presiding deity, Sri Murthi, is worshiped alongside Sri Devi Nachiyar (consort). The temple is historically blessed by revered saints such as Periyalvar, Thirumangai Alvar, and Ramanuja, who performed divine worship here. The temple’s sacred waters include the Sakra Tirtham and the Kandaki River, which hold deep spiritual significance.

The temple’s legend involves the Kandaki River’s intense devotion to Lord Vishnu, who manifested here as a Shalagrama (sacred stone form) daily. This site is famous for the Kajeendra Moksham legend, where Lord Vishnu grants salvation to the crocodile and elephant, symbolizing liberation.

Access to Muktinath is a challenging pilgrimage due to extreme cold and high altitude. Pilgrims must trek through mountain trails, often starting from Kathmandu or Pokhara, and cross rugged terrains.

Unique features include the self-manifested Shalagrama deity, the presence of 108 sacred tirthas (holy waters) around the temple, and the temple’s importance as one of the Swayamvyakta Kshetras (self-manifested temples) in Vaishnavism.
