66- Naimisaranyam Devarajan Temple

நைமிசாரண்யம் தேவாராஜன் கோயில்

உத்தரபிரதேச மாநிலம் சீதாப்பூர் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள நைமிசாரண்யம் தேவாராஜன் கோயில் 108 வைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 66வது திவ்ய தேசமாக உயரிய குணமுள்ளது.
இத்தலத்தில் மட்டுமே இயற்கை முறையில் பெருமாளை வன உருவில் வழிபடுவார்கள் என்பது தனிச்சிறப்பு.

தல வரலாறு:
பிரம்மதேவர் முனிவர்களின் வேண்டுகோளின்படி, தவம் செய்ய சிறந்த இடமாக நைமிசாரண்யம் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டது. சத்ரவேள்விகள் இங்கு நடைபெற்றுள்ளன. ‘நேமி சார்ந்த ஆரண்யம்’ என்ற பொருள் இத்தலத்தின் முக்கிய அடையாளம்.

கோயில் சிறப்புகள்:
தேவராஜன் பெருமாள் கிழக்கு நோக்கி வனவடிவில் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். சக்ர நதிக்கரையில் ராமபிரான், லட்சுமணர், சீதாபிராட்டி, விநாயகர் சன்னிதிகள் தனி கோயில்களாக உள்ளன. வேதவியாசருக்கு தனி கோயில் உள்ளது. அனுமான் கட்டி கோயிலும் இத்தலத்தில் உள்ளது.

பிரதான திருவிழாக்கள்:
வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, ஸ்ரீராம நவமி பெருவிழாக்களாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றன.

Naimisaranyam Devarajan Temple
Located in Sitapur district, Uttar Pradesh, the Naimisaranyam Devarajan Temple holds the distinguished position as the 66th Divya Desam among the 108 sacred Vaishnavite temples.

Unique Feature: It is the only Divya Desam where Lord Vishnu is worshipped in a natural forest (vana) form, symbolizing his divine presence in the wilderness.

Historical Significance:
The location was divinely chosen by Brahma after a sacred ritual, making Naimisaranyam a prime site for the Satra Yaga ceremonies performed by ancient sages. The name means “forest marked by the Chakra (disc).”

Temple Features:
Lord Devarajan faces east, appearing in his forest form. Along the banks of Chakra River, there are separate shrines for Lord Rama, Lakshmana, Sita, and Lord Vinayaka. A shrine dedicated to Sage Vyasa is also present. The famous Hanuman Koti Temple is located on a nearby hillock, where Hanuman is depicted carrying Rama and Lakshmana on his shoulders.

Festivals:
Vaikunta Ekadashi and Sri Rama Navami are celebrated with great devotion and grandeur.
