1-Poigai Alvar

Poigai Alvar is one of the twelve revered Alvars of the Vaishnavite tradition, born in Kanchipuram. He is the first among the Alvars and is known for composing the Mudhal Thiruvandhadhi, a Tamil devotional hymn in praise of Lord Vishnu. Poigai Alvar’s works emphasize Bhakti (devotion) and the divine presence of Vishnu in all forms. His contributions form the foundation of the Divya Prabandham, the sacred Vaishnava scripture.
