81-Thirukkadithanam Arpuda Narayanan

திருக்கடித்தானம் அற்புத நாராயணன் கோயில்

கேரளம் திருக்கடித்தானம் 108 வைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 81-வது தலம் ஆகும். இங்கு அமர்ந்துள்ள அற்புத நாராயணன் பெருமாள் ஒவ்வொரு 60 ஆண்டுகளுக்கும் புதிய சக்தி பெற்று, கலியுக முடிவில் ஒளியாக மாறி விண்ணில் கலந்து விடுவார் என நம்பப்படுகிறது.

இத்தலம் “கடி” (ஒரு நாழிகை = 24 நிமிடம்) என்ற சொல்லோடு இணைக்கப்பட்டு, ஒரு நாழிகை தவம் செய்தால் அனைத்து செயல்களிலும் வெற்றி மற்றும் வீடு, குடும்ப நலன் கிடைக்கும் என்பது ஐதீகம்.

இக்கோயிலின் பெயர் சூரிய வம்ச அரசன் ருக்மாந்தனின் ஏகாதசி விரத பலனை தேவர்களுக்கு அளித்தது என்ற கதை காரணமாக திருக்கடித்தானம் எனக் கூறப்படுகிறது.

புண்யகோடி விமானத்திற்குக் கீழே அமைந்துள்ள வட்ட வடிவ கருவறையில் பெருமாள் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். இங்கு நரசிம்மர், தட்சிணாமூர்த்தி, கிருஷ்ணர், சந்திரன் ஆகியோருக்கு தனித்தனி சன்னதிகள் உள்ளன.

கார்த்திகை தீபத் திருவிழாவில் நடைபெறும் சங்கேதம் மற்றும் வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி விழா இக்கோயிலின் முக்கிய திருவிழாக்கள்.

பஞ்ச பாண்டவர்களில் சகாதேவன் இங்கு பெருமாளை பிரதிஷ்டை செய்தார் எனவும், இத்தலம் முக்தி தலம் ஆகக் கருதப்படுகிறது.

Thirukkadithanam Arpuda Narayana Temple

Located near Changanassery, Kerala, the Thirukkadithanam Arpuda Narayana Temple is celebrated as the 81st Divya Desam among the 108 sacred Vaishnavite shrines. The presiding deity, Lord Arpuda Narayana (Amrutha Narayana), is revered for His miraculous powers and is believed to renew His divine energy every 60 years. According to legend, He will transform into pure divine light at the end of Kali Yuga and merge with the cosmos.

The temple is uniquely associated with the concept of “Kadi” (one kadigai = 24 minutes). Devotees believe that performing penance here for just one kadigai grants success in all endeavors and favorable results in marriage and family matters.

Historically, the temple’s name derives from a fascinating legend involving King Rukmanthan, who gifted the benefits of his Ekadashi fast to Devas trapped on earth, thus earning the name Thirukkadithanam (meaning ‘holy place of the kadigai’).

The temple architecture is remarkable for its circular sanctum (garbhagriha) known as the Punyakodi Vimanam, with shrines for Narasimha, Dakshinamurthy, Krishna, and Chandra. Special rituals include the Karthigai Deepam festival’s Sangeetham, where lamps burn overnight, and the Vaikuntha Ekadashi celebrations.

This temple is a powerful place for moksha (liberation) and is closely associated with the Pandava prince Sahadeva, who consecrated the main deity.
