106-Thirumeyyam Sathya Moorthy Perumal

திருமெய்யம் சத்தியமூர்த்தி பெருமாள் கோயில்

புதுக்கோட்டை மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள திருமெய்யம் சத்தியமூர்த்தி பெருமாள் கோயில், 108 திவ்யதேசங்களில் 106-வது தலமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. சத்தியகிரி மலை மீது அமைந்துள்ள இக்கோயில், முத்தரையர் காலத்தில் அகழப்பட்ட கடைவரைக் கோயிலாக கருதப்படுகிறது. சத்ய மகரிஷிக்கு பெருமாள் தரிசனம் தந்தது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

மூலவர் சத்தியமூர்த்தி பெருமாள், 22 அடி நீளத்தில் பாறையில் பல்லிக்கொண்ட நிலை அமைப்புடன் மேற்கு நோக்கி சயனித்திருக்கும் திருக்கோலத்தில் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார். திருவடியில் பூதேவி, நாபி தாமரையில் பிரமன், அருகில் தட்சன், அக்னி மற்றும் ஆயுத புருஷர்கள் காட்சியளிக்கின்றனர்.

ஸ்ரீரங்கத்திற்கும் முந்திய கோயிலாக ‘ஆதி ரங்கம்‘ என இத்தலம் புகழப்படுகிறது. சைவ–வைணவ ஒற்றுமையை உணர்த்தும் விதமாக, சத்தியமூர்த்தி பெருமாள் கோயலுக்கு அருகில் சத்தியகிரீஸ்வரர் சிவன் கோயிலும் உள்ளது.

இத்தலத்தின் விமானம் சோமச்சந்திர விமானம், தீர்த்தம் சத்திய புஷ்கரிணி. தாயார் திருநாமம் உஜ்ஜீவனத் தாயார், குழந்தை பேறு, மன அமைதி, மற்றும் வலி தீர அருள்புரிவதாக நம்பப்படுகிறது.

தைலக்காப்பு திருவிழா 12 வருடங்களுக்கு ஒருமுறை நடைபெறுகிறது. முக்கிய திருவிழாக்களில் வைகாசி தேர்திருவிழா, ஆடிப்பூரம், வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்தி அடங்கும்.

திருமணத் தடைகள், மன நலக்குறைவு, தம்பதியரின் ஒற்றுமையின்மை ஆகியவற்றுக்கு சிறந்த பரிகார ஸ்தலமாக இத்தலம் பரவலாக நம்பப்படுகிறது.

Thirumeyyam Sathya Moorthy Perumal Temple

Located in Pudukkottai district, Thirumeyyam Sathya Moorthy Perumal Temple is glorified as the 106th Divya Desam among the 108 sacred Vaishnavite temples. Nestled on the Sathyagiri hill, the temple features a cave shrine believed to have been excavated during the Mutharaiyar dynasty. It is said that Lord Vishnu gave darshan to Sage Sathya Maharishi here.

The presiding deity Sathya Moorthy Perumal, also known as Thirumeyyar, is enshrined in a unique reclining posture carved in rock—22 feet long, resting westward. The Lord is flanked by Bhoodevi near His feet, Brahma on a lotus from His navel, and surrounded by divine figures like Daksha, Agni, Panchajanya, Sudarsana, and others.

The temple is older than Srirangam and is revered as “Adi Ranga“. Uniquely, both Perumal and Shiva shrines stand side by side, symbolizing Shaiva-Vaishnava unity. The vimana is called Somachandra Vimanam, and the sacred tank is Sathya Pushkarini.

The goddess here is Ujjivanath Thayar, believed to bless devotees with progeny and mental peace. Special poojas include Taiyla Kaappu (oil coating) every 12 years for the main deity.

Major festivals celebrated here include Vaikasi Pournami float festival, Aadi Pooram, Krishna Jayanthi, Vaikunta Ekadasi, and Tamil New Year.

This sacred Divya Desam is a powerful parihara sthalam for mental afflictions, marital delays, and couple’s harmony.
