திருமோகூர் காளமேகப் பெருமாள் கோயில் (மோகன க்ஷேத்ரம்)

மதுரை மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள திருமோகூர் ஸ்ரீ காளமேகப் பெருமாள் கோயில் 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 103-வது தலம் ஆகும். இந்தத் திருத்தலத்தில் சக்கரத்தாழ்வார் சிறப்பு வாய்ந்தவர். நம்மாழ்வார், திருமங்கையாழ்வார் இத்தலத்தில் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளனர்.

பாற்கடலில் அமிர்தம் கடையும்போது ஒரு துளி இக்கோயில் தீர்த்தத்தில் விழுந்ததால், இக்குளம் பெரிய மற்றும் சிறிய திருப்பாற்கடல் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. அதில் திருமால் மோகினி அவதாரத்தில் தேவர்களுக்கு அமிர்தம் அளித்த திருத்தலம் இது.

பிரார்த்தனைகளை ஏற்கும் பகவான் இங்கு “பிரார்த்தனை சயனப் பெருமாள்”, “மோட்சம் தரும் பெருமாள்” என்ற பெயர்களால் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். தாயார் சந்நிதியை விட்டு வெளியேறாததால், நவராத்திரியில் மட்டுமே பூஜை நடத்தப்படுகிறது.

சக்கரத்தாழ்வார் சன்னதியில், நரசிம்மர் – லட்சுமி வராகர் அருள் பாலிக்கின்றனர். 154 மந்திரங்கள் உள்ள உற்சவர் வடிவம் மற்றும் 16 கைகளுடன் அக்னி கிரீடத்துடன் ஓடி வரும் சக்கரத்தாழ்வார் எனும் ஆழ்ந்த ஆன்மிகத்தை சிந்திக்கத்தக்கவை.

இக்கோயிலில் மன்மதன், ரதி வழிபாடு, மாவிளக்கு தீபம், அரிய சிற்பங்கள், மருது பாண்டியர் திருப்பணி ஆகியவை காணக்கூடிய முக்கிய அம்சங்கள். இது ராகு-கேது தோஷங்களை போக்கும் பரிகார ஸ்தலம் ஆகும்.

Thirumogur Kalamegha Perumal Temple (Sri Mohana Kshetram)

Located in Madurai district, the Thirumogur Kalamegha Perumal Temple, also known as Sri Mohana Kshetram, is the 103rd Divya Desam among the 108 Divya Desams glorified by the Alwars. This sacred site is especially significant for the shrine of Chakrathazhwar (Sudarsana Azhwar). Both Nammazhwar and Thirumangai Azhwar have sung Mangalasasanam for this temple.

During the churning of the Milky Ocean, a drop of nectar is believed to have fallen into this temple tank, giving it the name “Periya and Chinna Thiru Paarkadal”. Lord Vishnu appeared here in his enchanting Mohini avatar to distribute the nectar to the Devas.

The Lord here is known as “Prarthana Sayanar” (Lord who grants prayers) and “Moksha Tharum Perumal” (Liberator of souls). Since the Goddess never leaves her sanctum, Navaratri is the only time special poojas are held for her.

In the shrine of Chakrathazhwar, one can see Narasimha and Lakshmi Varaha deities. The Utsava murti of Chakrathazhwar bears 154 mantras, while the Moolavar has 16 hands with weapons and appears running with a flaming crown.

This temple also features Manmatha and Rathi worship, Maavilakku lamps, rare single-stone sculptures, and renovations by Marudhu Pandiyars.

It is a powerful Rahu-Ketu parihara sthalam, revered as Sri Mohana Kshetram, where devotees seek relief from doshas and karmic afflictions.
