திருமூழிக்களம் லட்சுமணப் பெருமாள் கோயில்

திருமூழிக்களம் லட்சுமணப் பெருமாள் கோயில், கேரள மாநிலம் எர்ணாகுளம் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள ஒரு முக்கியமான வைணவ திவ்ய தேசம் ஆகும். இது 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 79-வது ஸ்தலமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. இத்தலத்தில் இராமபிரானின் சகோதரர்கள் லட்சுமணரும், பரதனும் வழிபாடு செய்த புனிதமான இடம்.

மூலவர் அழகிய நின்ற கோலத்தில் நான்கு கரங்களுடன் கிழக்கு நோக்கி அருள்பாலிக்கிறார் – மேல்புறம் சங்கு, சக்கரம், கீழ் பக்கம் கதை மற்றும் தாமரை. விமானம் – சௌந்தர்ய விமானம்; தீர்த்தங்கள் – சங்க தீர்த்தம், சிற்றாறு, பெருங்குளம். தாயார் – மதுரவேணி நாச்சியார்.

ஹரித மகரிஷியின் தவத்திற்கு பதிலாக, பெருமாள் இத்தலத்தில் ஸ்ரீசுக்தி (திருமொழி) அருளினார். அதனாலே இத்தலம் “திருமொழிக்களம்” என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. பெருமாள் “திருமொழிக்களத்தான்” என்ற திருநாமத்தில் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்.

இங்கு சித்திரை மாத திருவோண நக்ஷத்திரத்தில் ஆராட்டுப் பெருவிழா, மாதந்தோறும் திருவோணத்தில் சிறப்பு திருமஞ்சனம், ஆடி மாதம் ராமாயண மாதமாக கொண்டாடப்படுவது போன்றவை சிறப்பானது.

இங்கு வழிபாடு செய்தால் சகோதரர்களிடையே உள்ள பகைமை நீங்கி, அமைதி ஏற்படும் என ஐதீகம் கூறுகிறது. வேதம், பக்தி, கல்வி, கலை, ஆகியவற்றுக்கேற்ப பழைய காலத்தில் கல்வி மற்றும் கலைமாநகரமாக இத்தலம் போற்றப்பட்டது.

Thirumoozhikalam Lakshmana Perumal Temple

Thirumoozhikalam Lakshmana Perumal Temple, located in Ernakulam district of Kerala, is a revered Vaishnavite Divya Desam and is listed as the 79th out of the 108 Divya Desams. It holds great spiritual value as Lakshmana and Bharata worshipped here.

The main deity (Moolavar) stands majestically facing east with four divine arms holding Shankha (conch), Chakra (discus), Gada (mace), and Lotus. The temple features the Soundarya Vimanam and sacred waters like the Sangha Theertham, a small river, and a large pond. The Goddess (Thayar) here is Maduravalli Nachiyar.

According to legend, Sage Haritha performed penance here, and Lord Vishnu blessed him with the Sri Sukta (Thirumozhi) at this sacred site. Hence, the temple is called “Thirumoozhikalam”, and the Lord is revered as “Thirumoozhikalathan.”

The temple celebrates an annual Aarat festival on the Thiruvonam star in Chithirai month and holds special abhishekams on every Thiruvonam day. The month of Aadi is observed as Ramayana month, drawing large crowds.

It is believed that worship at this temple heals sibling rivalry and fosters unity. Historically, Thirumoozhikalam was a center for Vedic studies, art, and spiritual learning, making it a renowned educational and cultural hub in ancient times.
