திருநாவாய் நவ முகுந்தன் கோயில்
108 திவ்யதேசங்களில் கேரள மாநிலம் மலப்புரம் மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள திருநாவாய் நவ முகுந்தன் கோயில் என்பது 76வது திவ்யதேசமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. 9 யோகிகள் தவம் செய்ததால் இத்தலம் நவயோகி ஸ்தலமாக அறியப்படுகிறது. மேலும் நாவாய், திருநாவாய் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

🔱 தல வரலாறு:
முன்னொரு காலத்தில் திருமகளும், கஜேந்திரனும் தடாகத்தில் இருந்து தாமரை மலர்களால் திருமாலுக்கு அர்ச்சனை செய்தனர். ஒருநாள் மலர்கள் கிடைக்காமல் வருந்திய கஜேந்திரனுக்காக, திருமால் திருமகளிடம் இனி மலர்களைப் பறிக்க வேண்டாம் என கூறி விட்டுக் கொடுக்கச் சொன்னார். அந்த மகிழ்ச்சியில், கஜேந்திரன் தினமும் திருமாலுக்கு பூஜை செய்தான். இதைக் கண்டு திருமால், திருமகளுடன் சேர்ந்து அவனுக்கு காட்சி கொடுத்தார்.
கேரளாவில், திருமகளுக்கு தனி சன்னதி உள்ள ஒரே தலம் இது.
🛕 கோயில் சிறப்புகள்:
வேத விமானத்தடியில், கிழக்கு நோக்கி நின்று மூலவர் முழங்காலுக்கு கீழ் பூமிக்குள் சென்ற கோலத்தில் உள்ளார். கணபதி, திருமகள், ஐயப்பன் ஆகியோருக்கும் சன்னதி உண்டு. ஆற்றின் அக்கரையில் பிரம்மா, சிவனுக்கான தனி கோயில்கள் உள்ளதால், இத்தலம் மும்மூர்த்தி ஸ்தலம் எனவும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.
திருமங்கையாழ்வார், இத்தலத்தை திருக்கோஷ்டியூர், திருநறையூரோடு ஒப்பிட்டு சிறப்பித்துள்ளார். கோயில் சுவர்களில் பழமையான ஓவியங்கள் காணப்படுகின்றன.
துவாபர யுகத்தில், கிருஷ்ணர் பாண்டவர்களுடன் இங்கு பித்ரு தர்ப்பணம் செய்தார். ஆடி அமாவாசை தினத்தில் ஆயிரக்கணக்கானோர் தர்ப்பணம் செய்ய வருவது வழக்கம்.

Thirunavaya Nava Mukundan Temple
Thirunavaya Nava Mukundan Temple, located in Malappuram district of Kerala, is revered as the 76th Divya Desam among the 108 sacred Vaishnava temples. The temple is called Nava Yogisthalam, as nine yogis performed penance here. It is also known as Navayogam, Thirunavaya.
Thirumangai Azhwar and Periyazhwar have sung Mangalasasanam here. The presiding deity is Navamukunda Perumal (Narayana) and the consort is Malarmangai Thayar. The sacred tank is Kamala Theertham, and the sanctum is crowned with the Veda Vimanam.
🔱 Temple Legend:
In ancient times, Goddess Lakshmi and the elephant Gajendra used to offer lotus flowers from the temple pond to Lord Vishnu. One day, Gajendra couldn’t find lotus flowers and was distressed. Lord Vishnu instructed Lakshmi to stop plucking them so Gajendra could use them for worship. Overjoyed, Gajendra worshipped Vishnu daily, and the Lord blessed him with a divine darshan along with Lakshmi. Remarkably, this is the only temple in Kerala where Goddess Lakshmi has a separate shrine.
🛕 Architecture & Uniqueness:
Lord Navamukundan faces east under the Veda Vimanam, but his knees and lower body are said to be embedded in the earth. Shrines for Ganapathy, Lakshmi, and Ayyappa are found within the complex. Across the river, separate temples for Brahma and Shiva make this a Trimurti Sthalam.
Thirumangai Azhwar praises this temple alongside Thirukoshtiyur and Thirunaraiyur. Ancient murals adorn the temple walls. Krishna performed Pitru Tarpanam here with the Pandavas during the Dwapara Yuga. Thousands visit on Aadi Amavasai to offer Tarpanam to ancestors.
