திருவண்பரிசாரம் திருவாழ்மார்பன் கோயில்

திருவாழ்மார்பன் கோயில், கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள 108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில் 88வது திருத்தலம். இங்கு நம்மாழ்வார் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளார். மூலவர் திருவாழ்மார்பன், உற்சவர் சீனிவாசர், தாயார் கமலவல்லி நாச்சியார். மகாலட்சுமி தாயார், பெருமாளின் மார்பில் நித்ய வாசம் செய்யும் காரணமாக, இத்தல பெருமாளுக்கு ‘திருவாழ்மார்பன்’ என்ற திருநாமம் ஏற்பட்டது.

🌿 சப்தரிஷிகள் தவம் இருந்தபோது, திருமாலாக இறைவன் காட்சி அளித்ததுடன், இத்தலத்தில் நிரந்தரமாக வீற்றிருந்தார். இத்தலம், நம்மாழ்வாரின் தாயார் உதயநங்கை பிறந்த இடமாகும். நம்மாழ்வார், வைகாசி விசாகத்தில் இங்கு பிறந்தார். இது அவரது அவதார தலம் என்றும் போற்றப்படுகிறது.

🛕 கோயில் அமைப்பு மிக அழகாகவும், ஆன்மீக மகிமையுடனும் உள்ளது. 9 அடி உயர மூலவர், ‘கடு சர்க்கரை யோகம்’ முறையில் செய்யப்பட்டு அபய ஹஸ்தத்துடன் அருள் தருகிறார். சப்தரிஷிகளால் சூழப்பட்ட இந்த இடம், திருப்பதி சாரம் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது.

🎉 முக்கிய திருவிழாக்களில் சித்திரைத் திருவிழா, ஆடி சுவாதி, புரட்டாசி சனிக்கிழமை ஊஞ்சல் சேவை, ஆவணி திருவோணம் முக்கியமானவை. திருமணத் தடை, கல்வி, செல்வம் ஆகியவற்றில் முன்னேற்றம் பெற இத்தலத்திற்கு திருப்தியுடன் வரும் பக்தர்கள் ஏராளம்.

Thiruvanparisaram Thiruvazhmarban Temple

🔱 The Thiruvazhmarban Temple in Thiruvanparisaram, located in Kanyakumari district, is celebrated as the 88th of the 108 Divya Desams. This sacred Vaishnavite shrine was glorified by Nammazhwar in his hymns. The presiding deity is Thiruvazhmarban, the processional deity is Srinivasa Perumal, and the goddess is Kamalavalli Nachiyar. Goddess Mahalakshmi is believed to eternally reside on the Lord’s chest, hence the deity is revered as Thiruvazhmarban – “One with the auspicious chest.”

🌿 When the Saptarishis performed penance at Suchindram (Jnana Aranyam), Lord Vishnu appeared in the form of Lord Shiva and later revealed his original form as Vishnu upon their request. Pleased by their devotion, He agreed to remain here permanently in His divine form.

🧘‍♂️ This sacred site is also the birthplace of Nammazhwar’s mother, Udayanangai. As per legend, after years of childlessness, Udayanangai and her husband prayed at Thirukkurungudi. Vishnu promised to incarnate as their son – Nammazhwar – who was born on Vaikasi Visakam Pournami. As instructed, they placed the child beneath a tamarind tree in Thirunagari, where he meditated for 16 years.

🛕 The temple architecture includes sanctum, ardhamandapam, and a unique single-stone mandapam. The 9-feet tall main deity is made using the Kadu Sarkarai Yogam method (herbal paste mixture), and hence no abhishekam (ritual bath) is performed for the Moolavar.

🎉 Major festivals include Chithirai Utsavam, Aadi Swathi, Purattasi Saturdays, and Aavani Thiruvonam, where Unjal Seva is performed.
