திருவித்துவக்காடு உய்யவந்த பெருமாள் கோயில்

108 வைணவ திவ்ய தேசங்களில், கேரள மாநிலம் பாலக்காடு மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள திருவித்துவக்காடு உய்யவந்த பெருமாள் கோயில், 77-வது திவ்ய தேசமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. இத்தலம் திருமிற்றக்கோடு, திருவீக்கோடு, ஐந்து மூர்த்தி தலம் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. குலசேகராழ்வார் இத்தலத்தில் 10 பாசுரங்களால் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்துள்ளார்.

பஞ்சபாண்டவர்கள் வனவாசத்தின் போது இங்கு தங்கியிருந்தனர். அர்ஜுனன் பிரதிஷ்டை செய்த பெருமாள் சிலை இத்தலத்தின் மூலஸ்தானமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. அவரைப் பின்தொடர்ந்து மற்ற பாண்டவர்கள் மற்றும் சாஸ்தா, நாகர், பகவதி, கணபதி, தட்சிணாமூர்த்திக்கும் சந்நிதிகள் உள்ளன.

இங்குள்ள முக்கிய சிறப்பு, காசி விஸ்வநாதர், ஒரு முனிவரின் பக்தியால் இத்தலத்தில் எழுந்தருளியதுதான். இவ்வழி, இத்தலம் சைவ-வைணவ ஒற்றுமையின் சின்னமாக விளங்குகிறது. தற்போது சிவலிங்கத்திற்கு தனி சந்நிதி உள்ளது.

ஐந்து பெருமாள்கள் அருள்பாலிக்கும் தலம் என்பதால், இது ஐந்து மூர்த்தி தலம் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறது. மேலும், பாரதப்புழா நதிக்கரையில் அமைந்துள்ளதால், பித்ரு தர்ப்பணம் செய்ய சிறந்த தலம் என்பதும் குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது.

திருவிழாக்கள்: வைகுண்ட ஏகாதசி, திருவோணம் உற்சவம் சிறப்பாக நடைபெறுகின்றன. பக்தர்கள் தீபம் ஏற்றி, துளசி அர்ச்சனை செய்து வழிபடுகிறார்கள்.

Thiruvithuvakodu Uyyavanda Perumal Temple

Among the 108 Divya Desams, the Thiruvithuvakodu Uyyavanda Perumal Temple in Palakkad district of Kerala is revered as the 77th sacred site. It is also known as Thirumittacode, Thiruveekode, and the Pancha Moorthi Sthalam. Kulasekara Azhwar glorified this temple with 10 pasurams.

During their exile, the Pandavas stayed here, captivated by the divine serenity of the Nila riverbanks. Arjuna first installed the idol, making it the main sanctum. Later, Yudhishthira, Bhima, Nakula, and Sahadeva installed their deities. The temple also houses shrines for Ganapathi, Dakshinamurthy, Sastha, Nagas, and Bhagavathi Devi.

A significant highlight: Lord Kasi Viswanathar manifested here due to the deep devotion of a sage from the region. Hence, the temple symbolizes Shaiva-Vaishnava unity. Today, there’s a dedicated shrine for the Shiva Lingam.

This sacred site is known as the “Pancha Moorthi Sthalam”, where five forms of Vishnu bless devotees. Located on the banks of Bharathapuzha river, it’s also an ideal place for offering tarpanam (ancestral rites).

Architectural Highlights: Intricate stucco sculptures adorn the walls, depicting Arjuna’s penance and Krishna’s divine pastimes.

Festivals Celebrated: Vaikunta Ekadasi and Thiruvonam Utsavam are grandly observed. Devotees light lamps and offer Tulasi garlands to the Lord with devotion.
