108 திவ்யதேசங்களில் ஒன்றான திருமலை திருப்பதி வெங்கடாசலபதி கோயில், ஆந்திரப் பிரதேசத்தில் அமைந்துள்ளது. இங்கு வீற்றிருக்கும் பெருமாள் “வேம்” (பாபம்) + “கடா” (அழித்தல்) + “ஈஸ்வரா” (கடவுள்) என்பதன் பொருளில் வெங்கடேஸ்வரர் என அழைக்கப்படுகிறார். பக்தர்கள் இவரை ஸ்ரீநிவாசன், பாலாஜி, வெங்கடவன், கோவிந்தன் என பல பெயர்களில் வழிபடுகின்றனர்.
கடல் மட்டத்திலிருந்து 853 மீட்டர் உயரத்தில் உள்ள திருமலை, ஏழு மலைகளால் சூழப்பட்டுள்ளது: சேஷாத்ரி, நீலாத்ரி, கருடாத்ரி, அஞ்சனாத்ரி, விருஷபாத்ரி, நாராயணாத்ரி மற்றும் வெங்கடாத்ரி, எனவே இத்தலத்திற்கு ஏழுமலையான் எனும் பெயர் வந்தது.

Tirumala Venkateswara Temple
Among the 108 Divya Desams, Tirumala Venkateswara Temple in Andhra Pradesh is revered as the 75th sacred site. The deity is known as Venkateswara, where “Ven” means sins, “Kata” means destroyer, and “Ishwara” refers to the Supreme God. Devotees affectionately call Him Srinivasa, Balaji, Venkatachalapathi, and Govinda.
Situated at an altitude of 853 meters above sea level, Tirumala comprises seven hills: Seshadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Vrishabhadri, Narayanadri, and Venkatadri, hence the name Ezhu Malaiyan (Lord of Seven Hills).
Kulasekara Azhwar has sung Mangalasasanam here. The presiding deity is Venkateswara, and the Utsava murti is Malayappa Swamy. The temple features Swami Pushkarini as its sacred tank, Ananda Vimanam over the sanctum, and follows the Vaikhanasa Agama tradition.
The temple showcases architectural marvels such as the square-shaped Raja Gopuram, Ranga Mandapam, and sanctums for Rama, Sita, Varadaraja Perumal, Yoga Narasimha, and Ramanuja. The Tirupati Laddu is world-famous.
According to legend, Lord Srinivasa married Padmavathi, the daughter of King Akasha Raja, an incarnation of Vedavati from the Ramayana. Lord Vishnu resides here eternally, blessing devotees with prosperity and salvation.
