73-Dwarkadhish Temple

துவாரகாதீசர் கோயில்

108 திவ்ய தேசங்களில், குஜராத் மாநிலம் துவாரகை மாவட்டத்தில் உள்ள துவாரகாதீசர் கோயில் 73-வது திவ்ய தேசமாக போற்றப்படுகிறது. மேற்கே நோக்கி நின்ற கிறுஷ்ணர் இத்தலத்தின் தனி சிறப்பாக விளங்குகிறார்.

ஒகா துறைமுகத்திற்கு அருகில் உள்ள கோமதி ஆற்றின் கரையில் அமைந்துள்ள இத்தலம், பெரியாழ்வார், நம்மாழ்வார், திருமங்கையாழ்வார், திருமழிசையாழ்வார், மற்றும் ஆண்டாள் ஆகியோரால் 13 பாசுரங்களால் மங்களாசாசனம் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது.

சோமநாதர் கோயில் வடிவில் உள்ள இக்கோயில் 51.8 மீ உயரமுள்ள கோபுரம், 72 தூண்கள் கொண்ட மண்டபம், மற்றும் மூன்று தலைவாசல்கள் கொண்டுள்ளது. கருவறையில் சங்கு, சக்ரம், கதாபாணியுடன் ராஜ அலங்காரத்தில் துவாரகாதீசர் அருள்பாலிக்கிறார்.

கோமதி ஆற்றில் நீராடினால், கங்கை நீராடும் புண்ணியம் கிடைக்கும். 5,000 ஆண்டுகள் பழமை வாய்ந்த இத்தலம், ஆதிசங்கரரால் நிறுவப்பட்ட சாரதா பீடம் கொண்டது.

கிருஷ்ண ஜெயந்தி, தீபாவளி, ஹோலி, குஜராத் புத்தாண்டு, உறியடித் திருநாள் போன்ற முக்கிய நாட்களில் சிறப்பு பூஜைகள் நடக்கின்றன. ஒவ்வொரு மணி நேரத்திற்கும் வண்ணவண்ண ஆடைகள் அணிவித்து, 17 முறை உணவு படைக்கும் வழக்கம் உண்டு.

துவாரகா கற்கள், இங்குள்ள புராண நம்பிக்கையுடனும், மோட்சம் அளிக்கக்கூடியவையாகவும் போற்றப்படுகின்றன.

Dwarkadhish Temple

Among the 108 Divya Desams, the Dwarkadhish Temple in Dwarka district of Gujarat is celebrated as the 73rd sacred site. This revered temple features Lord Krishna in a standing posture facing west, a unique attribute of this Divya Desam.

Located on the banks of the Gomti River near Okha Port, the temple is glorified in 13 Pasurams by the Azhwars—Periyazhwar, Nammazhwar, Thirumangai Azhwar, Thirumazhisai Azhwar, and Andal.

The presiding deity is Dwarkanath or Dwarkadhish (Krishna). The consorts are Rukmini, Radha, and Bama. The sacred water bodies are Gomti River and Sri Samudra Sangamam, while the Vimanam is called Hemakoota Vimanam.

This temple’s architecture resembles that of Somnath Temple, with a towering 51.8-meter-high gopuram and a 72-pillared mandapam. The sanctum houses Lord Krishna in royal attire with conch and discus, and a sacred lamp is lit atop the gopuram daily.

Bathing in the Gomti River is believed to bestow the spiritual merit of bathing in the Ganges. The site also houses the Sharada Peetham established by Adi Shankara.

The temple celebrates Krishna Janmashtami, Diwali, Holi, and Gujarati New Year with grandeur. Daily, 17 offerings are made and 11 varieties of prasadam are served. The temple is also known for the Dwarka stones—unique stones said to bear Vishnu symbols, believed to grant moksha when worshipped.
